I believe a crucial foundation for ongoing ritual is building a relationship with your guides in each direction. To call them in each day—or at the very least before ceremony or pivotal life moments—is to root yourself in guardianship, perspective, and guidance beyond the ordinary. These allies expand our sense of belonging and help us see our “everyday life” as sacred.

I have been sitting with these guides since childhood, and it is one of my greatest honors to be a bridge for bringing them into your life as well.

This is a rite of passage I recommend beginning at age seven, with the first four directions. At age fourteen, the next four guides are introduced—marking another threshold of growth and remembrance. These are such powerful ages, and to offer children the gift of support from their guides is immeasurable. For parents, too, the presence of this support can be deeply grounding and beautiful.

For those over fourteen, a full reading is ideal, though it is always important to listen to what feels right in the moment. Each session typically takes place outdoors in deep ritual. Following the session, you will receive a daily ritual practice, a directions booklet, a totem power portrait, and an altar candle to help continue the connection.
